12/14 — Women’s Art Festival

12/15 — Kolyada: Winter Songs From the Black Sea

12/21 — “Bring the Sing” on the Solstice

Through 12/22 — Black Nativity
A time-tested celebration of joy, community, and spirit, Penumbra Theatre’s holiday production features the Kingdom of Life Church Choir and choreography by Alanna Morris- Van Tassel under the direction of Penumbra founder Lou Bellamy and musical direction by Sanford Moore. Through 1/5 —Elemental Entanglement
Artists Kim Shuck and Elizabeth Jolly exhibit multimedia work that hone in on the essential and archetypal components of nature. Through 7/5 — Hennepin History Museum Suffragist Exhibit
An exhibit celebrates the 100th anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which extended the right to vote to white women. Items on view include a Minnesota voting machine from 1899. “Suffrage Saturdays” take place on the third Saturday of each month and feature presentations and activities related to the suffrage movement. In 2020, the museum will host “Centennial Conversations,” to explore life for women in Hennepin County 100 years after winning the right to vote. $8. Hennepin History Museum, Mpls. For 2025 coverage, Minnesota Women’s Press earned a community leadership award, three photography awards, and four editorial awards, including for coverage of social issues and for our Spring 2025 “Know Your Rights” special section supported by Unidos MN. Our publisher was named Journalist of the Year by Violence Free Minnesota for gender-based violence coverage.
