Thank you for supporting independent solutions journalism
Across the country, local news is shrinking, usual podium voices seem to be simply talking over each other, and spaces for meaningful dialogue are disappearing. Minnesota Women’s Press is the longest continuously run feminist publication in the U.S., producing community-centered journalism that elevates lived experience, explores solutions, and creates space for deeper understanding across Minnesota.
Your membership makes this work possible.
Building toward community ownership
Minnesota Women’s Press is laying the groundwork for a pioneering consumer-owned media cooperative. This will enable increased coverage on topics that matter most to members, use voting privileges and feedback loops to inform editorial and leadership decisions, and extend our community-driven media platform to even wider audiences.
“Why I am a member”

Ellie Krug
“I point to Minnesota Women’s Press’s active statewide network as a model for other organizations. It has shown up when other publications and media have ignored important, critical issues that affect all Minnesotans.”

Shannon Gibney
“I support Minnesota Women’s Press because the stories and voices it highlights are not seen anywhere else. And they are crucial to the development of our communities, the state, and the whole country.”

Priscilla Trinh
“When you open Minnesota Women’s Press magazine, you are not just provided feel-good local stories or depressing national headlines — you will be met with raw stories and practical pathways to engage with your community.”

For 2025 coverage, Minnesota Women’s Press earned a community leadership award, three photography awards, and four editorial awards, including for coverage of social issues and for our Spring 2025 “Know Your Rights” special section supported by Unidos MN. Our publisher was named Journalist of the Year by Violence Free Minnesota for gender-based violence coverage.
