We Are Hiring: Membership & Development Director
Minnesota Women’s Press is seeking a new partner in our growth and expansion statewide. We are looking for a candidate who is schooled in business development, membership engagement, and/or sales generation, with great communication skills and attention to detail. Strong multi-tasking and time management capabilities. Interest in social justice issues. You have ideas and energy to develop statewide growth. Will help publisher generate grant pitches and membership messaging. We have a team of four full-time and three part-time, based in North Minneapolis. This is a full-time position, at least three days per week in office.
We foresee a four-step process in this new role:
- Lead sales and development for the existing magazine, website, and newsletter, alongside another member of the team. Base salary: $40K, plus health benefits and vacation time.
- After that process is learned (about two months), you will begin to develop larger underwriting pitches that offer clients online marketing exposure embedded within specific categories of coverage, such as: Politics & Policy, Justice & Public Safety, Ecolution, and more. Commission per contract.
- In Fall 2023, we roll out a statewide membership campaign. You will oversee this rollout. Commission per monthly membership fees.
- Opportunity for advancement in 2024 as our revenue and statewide expansion grows.
