My view of the media business I love is that we tend to be reactive, writing for a passive audience. But our most engaged readers are NOT passive, and want to get in front of the stories, to change outcomes.
Somebody came into my office and said ‘I relapsed yesterday. I already talked to my probation officer. I already have my bags packed to go to treatment.’ That is success for that person.
That is the common denominator that I see among all of us badass women, especially those in this room right now. We all share this deep, abiding passion for creating transformative change.
