Juneteenth Messages
Angela Dawson welcomed guests at a Juneteenth celebration at her 40 Acre Co-op farm in central Minnesota, which we captured in this short video clip.
Dani Pieratos of Harvest Nation spoke about Indigenous food sovereignty. “Our traditional economies, where we were producers and consumers — managing and sharing our food, medicines, and material supplies — were all but destroyed. […] For our sovereignty to be restored, we need to produce our own foods, goods, and services so that we can follow through with our own priorities […] by our own values.”
