Day One: Participants will be welcomed to spend creative and healing day at Innisfree farm, nestled in the natural beauty of the Mississippi River Valley in Hastings Mn. Surrounded by the forest and horses renowned Celtic Artist Carrie Finnigan will teach drawing principles and lead the group through gesture drawing exercises of horses with line, shape and form designed quiet the mind and open the creative spirit. Sarah Kiani will offer close encounters with horses, forest bathing, labyrinth walking and breathwork/ mindfulness exercises designed to free the mind and restore the body.
Day Two: The ancient art of weaving takes us back to the rhythms of movement where body meets form. In day two of our workshop at Innisfree farm participants can immerse themselves in creating your own movement in form with an original weaving work. Artist Carrie Finnigan and Creator Sarah Kiani will lead you through an exploration of materials with a focus on rhythm through the use of drum and movement and creation. Weavers will with the use of gifts from the forest and fiber materials. Concepts covered will include introduction to use ov fiber and natural elements, texture and form and basic design principles of weaving. Participants will leave with an original woven work.
