The Twin Cities Women’s Choir will celebrate 25 years of elevating the voices of women by presenting the concert, “Nevertheless We Persisted “ on Friday, May 19, 2023, 7:30 p.m. at Roseville Lutheran Church, 1215 Roselawn Ave W, Roseville.

From our humble beginnings with a volunteer director, accompanist, and fourteen singers, our organization has steadily grown to its current size of 120 singers. Word spread about the choir’s diverse repertoire, connection with the audience because we memorize our music, and strong community of caring women whose enjoyment of singing together can be seen on our faces and heard in our voices.

The choice of the title “Nevertheless We Persisted” has particular resonance due to our most recent experience fighting to maintain our community during the COVID-19 pandemic, which was particularly hard-hitting for the performing arts. From Zoom rehearsals, to rehearsals outside in a parking ramp, to a winter concert outside that drew 120 people in 26 degree weather, we maintained our community and attracted ever more singers to join us! While we embrace the present moment, the concert will also honor our past and optimistically look toward an exciting future. During challenging times, we have persisted with joy, creativity and determination.
