WHO: Roxanne Avent Taylor (Producer, FATALE), Deon Taylor (Director, BLACK AND BLUE), Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, NAACP President Minneapolis, Leslie Redmond, Shiloh Temple International Ministries, Bishop Richard D. Howell, and State Senator Bobby Joe Champion.
WHAT: Be Woke.Vote is partnering with the City of Minneapolis, NAACP Minneapolis, the George Floyd Foundation, Shiloh Temple International Ministries and more to encourage residents of Minneapolis, especially young people, to register to vote, sign-up to be a poll worker, and ensure they are counted in the census with a drive-through voter registration event. There will be raffles, giveaways, swag (including Minnesota Vikings donated autographed memorabilia) and free food. Health and safety procedures for COVID will be in place – masks and social distance required, and security and lots of volunteers on site.
