Exploring Disability Theology: Interfaith Perspectives on Disability

In module two, guest teachers will present a variety of perspectives on Disability Theology from different faith traditions, cultures, and parts of the world. Teachers will include Angela Swain, Allison Connelly-Vetter, Julia Watts-Belser, Halla Attallah, Kathy Berken, and Danielle Clausnitzer. Topics will range from African theologies of disability, the experience of living in the L’Arche community, and Disability and Judaism.

Andrea Pearson Tande, MA, is Hedgerow Coordinator and Co-Director of Consociate Services with the Sisters of St Joseph of Carondelet, St Paul Province. She has a MA in Theology and the Arts from United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities and is currently pursuing a DMin from Fordham University.

Danielle Clausnitzer, MA is the Assistant Director of Wisdom Ways and a current PhD student at Georgetown University in the Theological and Religious Studies Department. Her focus of study is Africana Religions and Disability Studies. Her most recent publication, “Disability and the church in Africa” discusses institutional and individual approaches to disability and Christianity on the continent.
