A glimmer. A twinkle. A spark.
A guffaw. A full-blown belly laugh. When was the last time you had a deep down belly laugh? Remember how that felt?
Like the women on this issue's cover, sometimes a girl just wants ... needs a good laugh.
We all know that we're living in serious times. We all know someone who has lost her job or is looking for work. We've felt the impact of the recession on our savings or pocketbook. We have family members, friends or acquaintances with housing concerns, health concerns or who are serving in the military. It's easy to sink into despair.
We're hoping this annual "What Women Want" issue of the Minnesota Women's Press will add a little lightness and fun to your day. In December and January we asked our readers to tell us about their favorites -- the places they love to go, service providers they recommend, role models who give them
inspiration and, of course, favorite places to shop, eat or sip. Now we're sharing their secrets with you.
What do women want? What do women need? While we can't speak for all women, many ideas come to mind. Big things, like safety, acceptance, security, work that matters, knowing your life makes a difference. And, from time to time ... a deep down belly laugh.
